Our Story

Nigeria does not suffer from an absence of generosity. It suffers from insufficient structures for converting fragmented generosity and social capital into sustainable, measurable and scalable economic impact.

The Transforming Women and Youth Impact Foundation (TWYIF) exists to help close that gap.

TWYIF is a private-sector-led social-impact institution built to transform how philanthropic and social capital is mobilised and deployed for women, youth and communities, moving beyond one-time giving toward structured, recoverable, and recyclable social finance.

TWYIF began as the Women & Youth Impact Fund: a concept developed through Women Aligned for Growth and DI Africa to channel private capital towards women and youth. That idea is now established as the Transforming Women and Youth Impact Foundation, the registered institution through which the fund vehicles are structured, governed and operated.

Our Belief

Giving addresses an immediate need. Growing creates capability.

TWYIF exists to make both possible, protecting vulnerable people where grants are required, while transforming suitable social capital into sustainable economic opportunity where enterprise solutions are possible.

From Giving to Growing.

What We Are, and Are Not

TWYIF is:

  • A private-sector-led social-finance platform
  • A bridge between social capital and formal finance
  • An institution built on independence, professional management, transparency, accountability, and measurable impact

TWYIF is not:

  • A conventional charity collecting donations
  • A bank
  • A government intervention
  • An investment vehicle promising financial returns to contributors

TWYIF is building the connective infrastructure between generosity, communities, and formal finance.
